You do not point directional antennas to the modem only to the client which is the back of your house you said? Then setup your dlink router as your main wifi router to maximum performance. Is this the newest express? Can you try ethernet if so and see if ethernet works even if wireless fails. What you want to do is disable weak wifi on the comcast modem, connect the comcast modem to your dr-655 using an ethernet cable to the appropriate port. I need the full details, IP, gateway (router in Appletalk) and DNS. What IP does a computer that is connect to the express get? Again a screen shot is easier. What mode is the express in? Have you got it setup as router which in this case is required or in bridge? Please go to the network tab and check. can you please get that or give me a screenshot. What IP does the express get on the wan interface. The Airport Express wifi network is visible and I can sign in, but then cannot access web pages. However, I can't connect to the internet using a wireless connection (from either my mac or my iphone). The Airport Utility also shows a green light for the Internet and for the Airport Express. I've also connected the Airport Express to the router and the indicator light is green. I can get internet access by connecting my mac to the Technicolor router using ethernet. I've got a Comcast Technicolor TC8305C router that Comcast has put into bridge mode and a new Airport Express. Hope this helps someone else! Thanks LaPastenague for offering to help!! Powering everything down and starting them back up in the right sequence seemed to do the trick. That's not very different than the five other times I tried to get it to work, but I guess that something was conflicting before wiith IP addresses. Let it sit again until the amber light was blinking.ĥ) Plugged the Technicolor TC8305C router back in and waited until it had reached a steady state with the indicator lights.Ħ) Turned on my mac, didn't try to connect to any wifi networks, but instead launched the Airport Utility.ħ) The Airport Utility found the Airport Express and walked me through the set up. On the Airport Express it was connected to the WAN port and on the router it was connected to the first ethernet port.Ĥ) Plugged the Airport Express into the wall, let it sit until the amber light was blinking, and then reset it with a paper clip.

In case anyone else runs into this problem, here's what I ended up doing - hopefully it will work for others.ġ) Had Comcast set my Technicolor TC8305C router to bridge mode.Ģ) Powered down all devices using wifi (my iphone and my imac)ģ) Powered down the Technicolor TC8305C router.Ĥ) Connected the Airport Express to the Technicolor TC8305C router with an ethernet cable. I ended up fiddling around with it for another hour or so and with luck got it working! Hi all - I had Comcast put my Technicolor TC8305C router back in bridge mode tonight so I could take some screenshots of the problem.
